Description
Step into the charm of a Stonington CT historic house with this original watercolor painting, Steps Through Time. Inspired by a 1772 seaside home, this piece captures the elegance of a split brick staircase, a vibrant green door, and the soft afternoon light that highlights the architectural details of this timeless home.
First, I painted the front of the Stonington CT historic house with a light warm wash. Next, I focused on the windows, moistening the glass panes and dropping in a neutral tint to capture reflections with minimal strokes. Then, I added vibrant color to the door, making it cooler at the top and warmer toward the bottom to suggest reflected light from the brick steps. Finally, I completed the ornate railing with a rigger brush and fine-tip Micron pen, ensuring every line and detail came alive.
