Description
Sheep painted in alla prima style or “all in one go” these 2 lambs were grazing with their mother in a field bordered by trees and stonewalls. These sheep live in Old Lyme, Connecticut near the river. I sketched and photographed these sheep after arriving on a bicycle. The area has narrow country roads with little parking so riding a bike is a great way to stop and sketch the lambs. This wet into wet painting style shows the visible brushstrokes when applying the oil paint to the panel.
