Driftwood View

A serene landscape as viewed through a window.

The scene was perfect. A piece of driftwood on display in a window. The sun filtering inside the old house that sat on the rocky shoreline. Outside was the pretty water view with rocks, green grass and trees. I was visiting with a group for a day on the shore. I had my camera with me and I took a few photos. Back then I used slide film. I have saved many slides that I have taken over the years and occasionally I go through them. This window scene with the sunlight hitting the interesting wood brought back the memories of that day. As a result, I had to paint the ocean treasure brought inside and put on display on the windowsill.
