Description
Coastal Wonder – Original Block Island Watercolor Painting
Colorful ocean cliffs and a rocky shore are the main features in this original Block Island watercolor painting. The beach at the base of the 200‑foot‑tall Mohegan Bluffs is often called the most beautiful on the island, and I tend to agree—the cliffs are truly striking.
Every time I visit Block Island, I hike down the many stairs to the beach below. In this painting, the two figures walking on the sand show the impressive size of this coastal wonder on Block Island, a small island off the Rhode Island shoreline. Because it is such a short ferry ride, it makes a perfect day trip from the mainland.

Living by the sea inspires P.J. to paint the rolling surf, shorebirds, and ever-changing skies along the coast. She paints along Connecticut’s Long Island Sound and Florida’s southeastern shore.
