This watercolor painting of birds perched in a palm tree was inspired by a moment I noticed as I arrived at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park. The movement immediately caught my attention—birds flying in and out of the palm, constantly shifting and interacting within the branches.
I was drawn to that energy and wanted to capture it quickly on location. The scene had a mix of motion and calm, with the palm tree anchoring everything against a soft coastal sky.
Subtle sky blues and pale orange tones reflect the light at the time, complementing the greens of the palm and adding to the relaxed, coastal atmosphere.
