This is a new watercolor tutorial video of a lively blue sky with clouds. I am using a photograph that I took with an iPhone as I was walking the beach. Follow along as I paint this sky in watercolor on a 11″ x 14″ piece of rough watercolor paper. I demonstrate a variety of brushwork along with softening edges in a painting. There are many tips for people of all painting abilities.
My next step will be finishing the painting by adding the land below this pretty sky. So check back to see how I finish this watercolor painting.
Hi PJ,out y
Love you videos, could you tell us a little more about your materials and a start to finish video. Thanks for sharing, glad I came across your website.
Thanks Mary! I have been using Arches watercolor paper for years. Sometimes I will try a new paper like the one in the video that has a very rough texture. I use Winsor & Newton paints and have been adding Daniel Smith paints too. Hope to be adding more videos to my youtube channel soon (youtube.com/pjcookartist). I will try to add more materials and start to finish lessons. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the instruction. So lovely to watch you work. Your tips are so useful, and you make it look so easy. Simple and effective and loosely done. I am inspired. Thanks again!
